Minister wants more organic products in the stores but supermarkets are hesitant

Minister Adema of Agriculture, Nature and Food Safety, has announced the desire to increase the production and sales of organic food. He points out the important role supermarkets behold. The share of organic products in the supermarkets is currently limited, because supermarkets assume customers associate organic with a higher price.

The organic product range was researched in Superlist Green 2021. EkoPlaza was a frontrunner with their almost full organic product range. Adema considers these findings on the limited share of the organic product range do not spark hope.

Research for Superlist Green 2023 is kicking off. We join the minister in hoping that the organic product range is now on track to achieve the target: 15 percent organic in 2030.
