How do Dutch supermarkets make sustainable food the easy choice?

Superlist Green in the Netherlands compares Dutch supermarkets on their contribution to a sustainable food system. The six largest Dutch supermarkets included in this study are Albert Heijn, Aldi, Dirk, Jumbo, Lidl and Plus. The sustainability efforts of these supermarkets are compared on climate plans, protein transition, nature inclusive agriculture, sustainable packaging and sustainable fish.

Noodzakelijke daling uitstoot van broeikasgassen bij supermarkten nog niet ingezet

De uitstoot van broeikasgassen bij supermarkten vertoont nog geen duidelijke afname en neemt bij enkele supermarkten zelfs toe. Daarmee zijn de doelen in het klimaatakkoord van Parijs nog niet in zicht, waarvoor een sterke daling in uitstoot noodzakelijk is. Dit blijkt uit de derde editie van Superlijst Groen, het onderzoek naar wat de zes grootste supermarkten in Nederland doen om het voedselsysteem duurzamer te maken. In de ranglijst van supermarkten staat Lidl bovenaan, Dirk staat laatste.
