Swiss supermarkets are lagging behind in climate plans, but are pursuing good approaches to reducing emissions

None of the Swiss supermarkets has published a roadmap to reach its near-term emission-reduction targets. Migros’s total emissions and Coop Switzerland’s Scope 3 emissions have decreased, while Denner’s total emissions have increased since their respective baselines. Denner and Migros report their protein split in protein-rich food groups. Denner has set a target of 40 per cent plant-based proteins in its total sales by 2040.
